Starting-up Recruitment BusinessIn the present global economic context, how feasible is it to initiate a start-up recruitment venture as an entrepreneur? Recruitment can when it is done well, be a very rewarding business, both financially and importantly non financially as I am sure you are aware. In the global economic context, it is feasible to start a new search venture at any time. However, success will depend on various factors. 1. How would you add more value to your existing business relationships? 2. What would your vision be, in carrying out the services? 3. Are you looking at just quick money in the short term? 4. Usually when you call yourself a search partner, you look at being a brand ambassador for the customer to attract the right talent pools. So this partnership can be either perceived as a cost center or a profit center. If you just become a vendor, its a cost center. However, if your relationships and services add value to a customers business in a tangible way, then you are perceived as a profit center. So how you position yourself is very important. 5. Today, the mood of most economies is cutting costs. So how you present yourself for this and adapt to this notion is pivotal for your success. A clear definition of your services is extremely critical to establish a niche and because if you don't do that, no one would know your key differentiation from others. At the same time, no one would be able to translate your services into benefits in the first "go" and make it more difficult for you. 6. Finally, you certainly need sufficient money to sustain your business for at least 9-10 months. At the same time, your intrinsic capabilities to reach out to the right mix of people, enabling successful closures, working within specified shoe string time lines, operating on a strict value system, transparent communication model for internal as well as external customers, and benchmarked processes along with delivering key results play extremely important roles. Ultimately, your relationships are all that matter in the end. - DeTimes |
